Dr. Ofer Levi has been inducted into The Optical Society (OSA) as a fellow on September 15, 2020. As one of more than 2,500 fellows in OSA, Dr. Levi will be able to contribute to the advancement of optics and photonics through education, research, engineering, and business endeavours. OSA has been the world’s leading optics and photonics communities since 1916, bringing together and encouraging scientists, students, and industry leaders from around the world to facilitate and promote scientific and professional growth.
An associate professor at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (BME) and Electrical Engineering (ECE) at the University of Toronto, Dr. Levi’s research focuses on developing bio-photonics and semiconductor optical devices. Specifically, his research seek to design, fabricate and use miniature optical imaging systems for portable micro-fluidics diagnosis systems and for in vivo applications such as optical brain imaging, and continuous monitoring of tissue kinetics.
